Review: Laura Hooper Calligraphy & Dabney Lee

This past weekend I drove over to Dumbo with my sister and my mom. I fell in love with it from the moment we got there. It is such a cute area and I can't wait to go back and explore it when I have more time. We were there for a Laura Hooper calligraphy workshop at THE CUTEST stationary/gift shop I've ever been to, Dabney Lee.

There were two long tables set up with personalized placemats and a beginner packet:
and we each got a "swag bag" with some gifts from Dabney Lee's shop:
Instruction was given on a large chalkboard in the front of the room and then the two instructors walked around to give people one on one help:
We started out learning different strokes and then practiced some letters:
My mom and my sister managed to get ink all over their hands while mine remained spotless!
It was A LOT harder than it looks, but we had a blast learning something new and checking out a different neighborhood in Brooklyn! If you are ever in Dumbo, definitely pop in to Dabney Lee
